Treatment philosophy

Improving communication, cognition, and participation in daily life is at the heart of everything I do. Therapy focuses on what’s most important for the client and their family because personalized goals and treatment activities lead to better outcomes and greater client satisfaction. They also make sessions more engaging and meaningful.

About me

I’ve worked with people with stroke, brain injuries, and other neurological conditions in hospital, acute rehab, skilled nursing, outpatient settings.

When I'm not seeing clients in my private practice, I facilitate groups for people with aphasia and their significant others at the Aphasia Center of California.

I am an active member of Aphasia Access, and co-host a podcast about aphasia.

I've been an invited speaker at events for people with Parkinson's, including the Michael J. Fox Foundation's Parkinson’s IQ and You.

I hold national certification from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and am licensed in California. I stay up to date with the latest research so I can offer the most effective treatment, and have received ACE awards for excellence in continuing education from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) for the past four years.

Before becoming a speech pathologist I was a public radio journalist, podcast producer, and editor for nonprofits.
